The filtration surface of the Johnson Screens results from welding a V-shaped wire on to supports, for an exceptional strenght. The inwardly enlarging opening allows only two points of contact with the particles, which minimizes potential plugging and provides for an easier cleaning. All the Johnson Screens know-how can be seen in the wide range of wire profiles available. To meet the most demanding requirements, Johnson Screens has developed and introduced the smallest wire in the world: the Wire 20, with a width of 0,5 mm.! The main advantage of the Wire 20 is the capability of filtration efficiency that cannot be achieved with profiles of larger dimensions used in V-shaped continuous slot screens, by offering a incredibly high percentage of open area, that means: - more flow through the screen even at very fine screen opening; - lower pressure drop, therefore a smaller pump can do the job; - lower rate of plugging for the screen, and thus less frequent cleaning; - reduced flow-through velocity, therefore less wear on the screen; - at equal open area, superior retention and filtration efficiency.
